Today would have been Michael’s 64th birthday. It’s impossible not to think of him every August 29th and celebrate his life and all he achieved as an artist, entertainer and humanitarian.

As we gear up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Thriller,” it’s been wonderful to create this website and dive so much into his life in the early 1980s and view 100s of photos of this youthful and energetic man. He was only 24 years old when he released the most consequential album of his career and broke nearly every entertainment record on the planet. It’s almost impossible to think of one man having so much creativity and be such a force at such a young age.

When “Thriller” was last celebrated it was 2008 for the 25th Anniversary. It was great that he was able to oversee that project and get involved. One of the reasons we based our “Thriller 40” logo for this website on the “Thriller 25” logo (same placement, same font), is because he would have signed off on that, and we wanted to continue having a piece of Michael in our branding.

We wish he could have been with us today to celebrate the milestone anniversary with us, but feel his energy as we re-explore this fascinating moment of his life.
